This dataset provides an annual estimation of Myanmar's monsoon rice sown area derived from Sentinel-1 Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) and Sentinel-2 optical satellite imagery using a Random Forest machine learning classification approach. The dataset supports the estimation and monitoring of monsoon rice cultivation across Myanmar and is intended for agricultural planning, food security analysis, and disaster risk assessment. The data are produced annually by the SERVIR-Mekong Myanmar project and should be used together with the sample-based area estimation results where available. For the 2021–2023 datasets, accuracy assessments were conducted using a stratified random sampling approach with a 95% confidence interval at the State/Region level. More information is available at the Myanmar SERVIR portal (++https://myanmar-me-servir.adpc.net/++) and the Humanitarian Data Exchange (HDX) sample-based estimation dataset.
